The Story of a Kit Car Build

An Inspector Calls

I’ve had the car inspected now and it’s now all the paperwork to do.

I’ve made my own chassis number up and I will be able to use this. There’s a few digits you aren’t allowed to use, for whatever reason, so I avoided those still keeping the ones I want.

A point arose when the car was being inspected and that was because I had the original bill of sale, so there was no doubt who the car belonged to. This might seem strange, as you wouldn’t normally build a car for someone else and claim it was yours, but with mine being bought as a part built kit I had proof that I had bought it off the genuine owner. A point worth noting, I think, for anyone thinking of doing the same. I suppose it could be likened to buying a MONDEO without a logbook.
